I had an amazing stay at a cottage located in a secluded spot with fine views. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even providing assistance when we had trouble in the snow. The cottage was well equipped with a kitchen that had everything we needed for light snacks, including a toaster, coffee maker, and microwave. The parking was right outside the cottage , made it easy to unload our luggage. We also enjoyed the lavish breakfast with its varied menu that was served in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Nothing, all great.

During our romantic escape, we had a lovely cabin with breathtaking mountain views. the hot tub was the best spot for stargazing and enjoying local beer under the northern lights. the 24/7 open kitchen was a great convenience and helped us save some money on food. the location was perfect for exploring the glacier and local sight-seeing spots. We also enjoyed the troll-related signage and sculptures on the scenic trail.
The living area of our cabin was uncomfortable due to the lack of a cozy sofa. We ended up spending most of the evening at the kitchen table.

The Sunset Cottage was our cozy home away from home. We were mesmerized by the fine views of the small waterfall right from our room. The cottage was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The bathroom was clean and the rain shower was a good touch. We enjoyed exploring the troll park and taking a relaxing soak in the hot tubs. And of course, the highlight of our stay was witnessing the magical Northern Lights right outside our window. we had an lovely experience at Fossatun Sunset Cottage and would highly recommend it.

We stayed at the stunning Sunset Cottage for a few nights and it was absolutely perfect. The setting was breathtaking, with incredible views of the surrounding valley and river. During the day, we enjoyed the mesmerizing waterfall nearby and in the evenings, we were treated to a magical display of stars and even caught a glimpse of the northern lights. The owner was incredibly helpful and even signed a copy of his Troll story book for our daughters. The chalet itself was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The children's play park was an added bonus and the location was convenient for visiting Into the Glacier and the underground caves. a truly wonderful experience.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed in an idyllic location surrounded by nature, with delicious food available - including Icelandic specialities - and friendly staff who were passionate about music. The troll path and hot pots were also highlights of my stay.
The bathroom and shower facilities were shared, which may not suit all guests. It was also a bit of a drive from the main lobby/restaurant area to the guesthouse.

the common spaces had a unique atmosphere and the troll walk was entertaining for the whole family. the hot tubs were a great addition and we enjoyed relaxing in them in the evening. the rooms were clean and well-maintained, and there was plenty of space around the different houses and bungalows, so we didn't feel crowded by other visitors. the guesthouse, in particular, had a spacious and fully equipped kitchen and common area, making it perfect for longer stays. I would highly recommend Sunset Cottage for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation. Cons: Nothing that I didn't like. 😊.
